When the joy we have in Jesus wells up inside of us, there’s no stopping it from spilling out into the lives of others through evangelism. Pastors should seek to steward this joy before sending his flock out.
There is a trap in church thinking that the pastor is the one who must take on individual ministry roles himself. A pastor is to equip his flock to love and serve in harmony and to edify one another in love.
The authority and reality of Jesus becomes clearly focused when we count the cost and make a choice.
Adversity is to be expected in the life of the believer, but the authority and the sufficiency of Christ is tried and proven in these challenges.
The life and activity of Jesus begins by grace, is embraced by faith, and maintained through worship and a first love relationship with Jesus.
When church leaders and pastors are in the habit of observing God’s grace at work in our church, we then are compelled to respond with acts of faith. Acts of grace are calls to make much of Jesus, pray, and obey.
Pastors must be masters at observing and recognizing these moments of grace and drawing their flock’s attention to them.
When Jesus is given His rightful spot as Head of the local church, pastors can begin and should begin to shepherd the congregation in prayer, the vital connection to the Head.
Great relief comes when we remember that is indeed Jesus Who will build His church, not a pastor’s own strength and power.
